5 REASONS WHY WE LOVE LIVING IN FLORIDA

It's been five months since we moved full-time to North East Florida, and while we are by no means pros at our new home state, we have collectively gathered-up five reasons as to why we love living in Florida so far! Five months, five reasons!

1. OUTDOOR LIVING

We love spending time outdoors and being in Florida allows us to do that year round. The amount of Vitamin D we get just from stepping outside boosts our mood immediately. They don't call it the sunshine state for no reason. A place like Key West has almost 260 day's of sunshine every year. Where as, North East Florida has four mild seasons; which we totally love! We certainly welcome the beauty of spring, cooler autumn temperatures, and mild winters after a baking summer.

2. FLORIDA WILDLIFE

Florida is home to one of the most interesting wildlife populations in the country.

Where else can you swim with the manatees? Or catch an alligator sunning itself at a pond by your house? Our home was built within a nature preserve so we are grateful to have so many of Florida's native animals on our doorstep to admire from a far. And, let's be sure to point out all the natural landscape that the state offers... Stunning State parks with remarkable displays of native plants, endless strips of stunning beaches, and the beauty of the gulf of Mexico, and the sparkle of the Atlantic ocean for surf lovers. Oh, and the spectacular sunsets are mesmerizing.

3. FLORIDA SPRINGS

We are forever in awe of Florida's bubbling wonders. Florida is home to over 600 springs; the largest amount of springs than anywhere in the world. While some are barely noticeable, others are so large that they pump out millions of gallons of water a day. Many offer swimming, snorkeling, diving, photography, camping, canoeing, tubing or kayaking in water with a constant average temperature of 72 degrees.

4. THERE IS ALWAYS SOMETHING TO DO

Not only does this state have huge theme parks like Disney World and Universal Studios, it also offers so much local culture, quaint coastal towns, nature, eco friendly excursions, water sports, wildlife tours, small business and so much more that can't be beaten. We love that it offers something for everyone! Living in Florida we always have visitors of all ages, abilities and different vacation preferences, so we are always grateful to be able to plan something to suit everyone's needs and interest.

5. CULTURE

Floridian history is rich with stories of pirates, gold, and rockets. We love that we live a drive away from the oldest city in the nation - St. Augustine. Its unique scenery and history set this city apart from any other in the country with statues and stories of historic explorer Ponce de Leon.

Most major American space launches happened in Cape Canaveral, where they still launch today.

So, what we are trying to say is; If you've never been to the Sunshine State, it's high time you come for a visit, and make sure to let us know so we can join you! ;-)

Thanks' so much for reading. We'll see you here next week for some freediving adventure in Gilchrist Springs State Park.
