When Dan and I were deciding on where to take our babymoon we
had a list of places yet, the one place that kept standing out was the coastal towns on 30a.
After spending just three days here we fell in love with the area so we put together this blog post to help you plan your trip.
Our airbnb was nestled in Seacrest Beach. A cute coastal condo over looking the tranquil emerald coast. The view from the living area was like a picture perfect painting.
Each Seaside town has its own unique and stylish flair and all with the most stunning European architecture, bustling food scene and white sandy beaches. By far the most cutest and beautiful seaside towns we have ever visited.
This map shows all of the beach towns off of 30a. While the beaches look close together and are on the same coast, each has a very different aesthetic.
Let's dive into a handful of 30A seaside towns that we got to explore.
Rosemary Beach is by far one of the most sweetest and scenic beach towns on 30a. It has a very European feel to it with its cobble streets, stunning homes and perfectly decorated porches, hanging gas lanterns and lot's of outdoor dining options.
There are many high-end restaurants in Rosemary Beach all with raving reviews. Unfortunately, this trip we didn't have a chance to dine here but, we did manage to pick up a smoothie bowl from Playa Bowls that were amazing!! We can't wait to head back in the summer and try out a few of the restaurants that we had heard so much about.
Bikes! We love a good seaside town that has bikes to rent but Rosemary Beach has taken bike rentals to the next level with it's abundance of bike rental options to cruise around town. There are plenty of bike trails and flat paths all along 30a to ride bikes from one town to another. Riding a bike around the area is a great way to explore and take in the views.
Rosemary beach certainly has an air of class and sophistication, but in our opinion it isn't where we would plan to spend the majority of our time. Our idea of a beach vacation is living in our bathing suits, messy hair, and no shoes. This area is a very fashionable, and has an exclusive feel to it. However, we enjoyed taking the short drive and bike ride into the town for a day's shopping and peeking at all the beautiful homes; A lot are vacation rentals.
Alys Beach was certainly the most striking seaside town on 30a with the bright-white homes and Bermuda style architecture. It really feels miles away from ordinary! Alys Beach is a beauty of balance, simplicity and elegance.
Alys beach has an abundance of stunning rental homes that embrace wellness, balance and calmness.
Dining! We didn't dine in Alys Beach because we ran out of time, but we did notice that there was anything from coastal fare to American cuisine.
First of all, staying in Seacrest was the best! For a couple who love the beach and at times wanted to just kick-back on the balcony and watch the dolphins swim by, it was a perfect fit for us. We particularly enjoyed Peddlers Pavilion where you can rent bikes, kids can play in the splash area and you can enjoy a variety of casual dining options and shopping. We were fortunate to have private beach access through our Airbnb rental which was a win-win and a reason we would return to Seacrest.
Seacrest is close to all other beach towns in both directions whether you choose to ride a bike or drive your car. It's a perfect place to reconnect with your partner, friends or family.
Close to Seacrest in Watersound Beach is a fun entertainment area known as The Hub. A place where friends and family gather to enjoy an assortment of great cuisine with a casual style. We loved how this area is set-up to embrace gatherings of all sizes. The restaurants and stores surround a large lawn area where you can find comfortable seating, a fire place and a large stage area for events. The Hub has events that take place daily and a great place to hang out morning, afternoon or night; There's always a party going on!
If you are looking for an adorable beach town where you can be at the beach all day, stay in your swimsuits, be bare foot, ride bikes, and later finish your day in town enjoying ice cream or a good dinner, this is the place for you!
Seaside! A picture perfect town with white picket fences, cobblestone streets, and quaint cottages; It's no wonder that this was the place directors chose to shoot The Truman show starring Jim Carrey.
During our short evening in Seaside we instantly felt a connection of community that gathered in groups at the square. At the square you'll find a large green space area and stage surrounded by coffee shops, boutique stores, ice cream bars, and restaurants that offer a variation of cuisine or if your in the mood for quick service there are many food trucks to choose from and all a stepping stone away from the beach.
When you visit this bustling seaside town you will instantly get a feeling of family fun and community that this blissful town has to offer. We would definitely choose to stay in Seaside on another trip.
We hope this blog post helps you narrow down what town you will choose to stay in on your trip to 30a.
