Chase is three months old! In today's post we are sharing some of his first experiences and milestones over the last two months.

Celebrating first experiences and milestones is important, and shouldn’t just be reserved for birthdays, birth or weddings. Milestones come in all shapes and sizes, just like travel. In today’s fast-paced world, people often get wrapped up in jumping right into the next big thing and forget to stop and look at the small and sweet first experiences and milestones of life.

As we're transition into this new phase of life we are capturing and celebrating all those small moments in our life and Chase's life. We treat our digital passport like we treat our personal journal; Sharing everything with you from our travels, personal experiences, adventures, and growth. Join us as we celebrate all the wonderful moments that took place in the month of June and July.

First Swim In The Atlantic Ocean

The ocean is a very special place for us, it brings us joy and life. Therefore, it was really meaningful to us that we introduce Chase to it early on. We're fortunate to live right by the beach so there is no doubt Chase will have many, many day's spent playing in the sand and riding the waves.

This first trip will forever remain a precious memory in our minds.

First Swim In The Pool

We love being in the water, whether that be a pool, the beach or a lake so, for us

swim safety is really important! We hope by introducing Chase to water at a very young age his confidence in the water will flourish. Thankfully, he has a really great swim instructor called, Dad. lol! Dan started competitive swimming at 4 years old and went on to swim division 1 in college, he later taught master programs, competitive swim teams, and infant swim. By now, we've lost count as to how many kids and adults Dan has taught. Let's hope that Chase doesn't become Dan's most difficult student. To be continued...

First Fathers Day

Chase and Dan's first Father's Day!

The celebration of Father's Day reminds us about the importance and the challenges of Fatherhood. Today’s fathers no longer play the dogmatic role of a breadwinner and authoritative figure in the families. Breaking the old stereotypical image, a father can be married, divorced or single, gay, non-binary or straight, adoptive or step, and willing to provide for the needs of his child. Raising a child is a life-altering experience for both the parents and there are many transformations that new fathers go through.

Being a Dad doesn't come with a handbook and the only way one learns is through experience. The past two months Dan started a whole new role, and his priorities had a major shift in direction. For years Dan has said, "there is no better title I could earn in life that is more important than the title of a Dad". Chase an I are so glad he finally has that title.

A small message from Chase;

Dear, Daddy

Since the moment I was born you jumped right in to take care of me whilst Mummy was recovering from her surgery. You didn't let the nurses take charge, you did everything yourself. You learned how to swaddle, change my clothes, change my diaper and comfort me all hours of the day. Since the day I was born, there hasn't been a day that you haven't picked me up to give me a great big snug! When people say, "You look just like your Dad," I wish I could tell them that's the best compliment I could ever get. Someday, I hope to grow as strong, wise, and be good at every sport, just like you!

Love your best bud,

~Chase

First 4th of July Celebration

It's fair to say we had a baby friendly 4th of July celebration this year. With Chase just 6 weeks old we kept things pretty low key and stayed away from large crowds.

As much as we kept this year low-key, we became those parents and bought our tot the classic "Babies first 4th of July" outfit, because right now he can't complain when we post his festive look on instagram. lol!

Being that fireworks were out for us this year, we're fortunate to live in a community that has a lot of family-friendly 4th of July entertainment over the holiday weekend, one event that includes a community golf cart parade. It's always one of our favourite ways to kick-start the holiday weekend, and although we were spectators this year cheering on our neighbors, we still had fun watching how everyone decorated their golf carts and came together in unity.

As much as this country is not perfect, we love that this country allows everyone to celebrate their cultural identity. Chase will grow-up celebrating his British heritage and his American heritage. The U.S.A has always been a beautiful melting pot. Every nation, race and colour is represented in America. The diversity of every man, woman, and child is what makes this country strong! The spirit of America lives and we see it every day with hard working people from all over the world, small businesses, entrepreneurs with a vision and determination, and the dreamers who are out there wanting a better life and those fighting to make a difference.

FIRST PASSPORT

Chase is officially a passport holder! We are thrilled to say that Chase is finally able to travel outside of the US. There is something so enlightening and freeing when you have the opportunity to have your very own passport. Having a passport is such a privilege and something that should never be taken for granted.

However, getting this passport was no easy task... have you ever tried taking a photo of a newborn with his/her eyes open? That's a story for another day.

ALL NEW VIDEO!!

Thank you so much for celebrating with us in today's post! The past two months had its many milestone moments, but it also had its challenges of sleepless nights, and navigating this whole parenting thing. It's safe to say that for the first four weeks no one was thriving in our household, including the dogs. lol.

We have come to realize that we will never stop learning how to navigate parenthood, it's something we will do until our last breath, but in the mean time, we'll focus on all the good and learn from the days that aren't so good.

Parent friends, we'd love to know how you celebrated a big holiday event with your newborn. Did your activities that day change to what they were pre-baby? Did you find new ways to celebrate that were family friendly? Let me know in the comments below.

Wishing you all a great week and thank's a bunch for stopping by!

~ Hugs, Gem
