Hello friends!

Today's post is rather exciting and one that we have been keeping to ourselves for a little over three months and we are so excited to finally share it. We're having a baby!! Our bundle of joy will arrive June, 2022.

We had been trying for quite sometime and endured some unfortunate challenges along the way. Yet, on September 30th we finally had a positive test result and although for eight weeks prior to our visit with our OBGYN we were a bundle of nerves, it was such a relief on October 28th to have medical confirmation from our OBGYN that we were pregnant! That day, we got to hear our sweet little bean's heartbeat for the first time which made everything seem so real. A moment so precious that we will remember it for a lifetime.

Being three weeks into my second trimester now, I am thankfully feeling SO much better. The first trimester was pretty rough. I'm conscious that compared to others I was fortunate not to throw-up everyday but 24/7 nausea and constant exhaustion was tough. If you follow our Instagram account you may have noticed that Dan and I completely disappeared from social media. With the little energy I had, I would literally work, walk the dogs, clean the house and Dan would sweetly handle all the above for me! Not my usual active self in the slightest.

Once I reached 12 weeks we decided to share our news with immediate family. The abundance of love and happiness we received from everyone was so overwhelming. Sharing the news was such a special time for Dan and myself because prior to that we were so concerned about our little bean's wellbeing; those early weeks were a constant worry for us. However, sharing the news with our immediate family made everything feel so special and wonderful!

At 14 weeks we shared the gender of baby P with immediate family and friends. Any guesses?? Well, we are thrilled to announce it's a BOY!!

Although, this wasn't the easiest journey for us, we are so grateful and feel so blessed to become parents next June to a sweet baby boy. We feel so fortunate that it is finally happening.

Dan is so excited and has been so supportive and patient (particularly the first three months when I was not at my best). With his A-type personality I think he has researched more about pregnancy and birth than I have. Haha!

We are so happy to finally be able to share this joyful news with you all and all the exciting things to come.

As always we would love to hear from you all in the comments or on our Instagram account, particularly if you are pregnant, becoming new parents or have been parents for years. This is all very new to us so it would be fun to connect with any parent's-to-be or parents that have years experience.

Love and Hugs,

~ Gem
